Using local Neem wood, “Azadirachta Indica” and simple manual tools, wooden products like kitchen tools and other small items, like combs, are produced in West Bengal. Plastic combs all but killed this traditional industry that bounced back with other objects of household use and décor. CRC worked with them and developed a globally popular range of utility items and added buffalo horn products to their repertoire.
Luxminarayan Horn and Wood Carving organize a group of craftsmen in a small village. The artisans come from weak economic backgrounds, but now with the revival of their craft, are able to eke out a decent livelihood.
